The Adaptive Child was started in 2003 in St. Louis, Missouri. Resources for children with special needs were
difficult to find and parents more often had to rely on school districts to supply them with therapeutic devices, which
could be used at home. I experienced this first hand when my son was diagnosed with autism in 1999 due to significant
delays in language.
Our mission is to make life easier for parents, more enriching for children, and more enjoyable for the entire family.
